A School Has Been Opened For Service In Serbia With A 500-Student Capacity

A school with a 500-student capacity has been built by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency and opened in Southern Serbia, where there is a high concentration of Albanians.

An opening ceremony was organized for the Muharem Kadriu Elementary School, where nearly 500 students will be attending classes in Serbia’s Veliki Trnovats region. The ceremony was attended by Serbian Secretary of State Suleyman Uglyanin, Turkey’s Ambassador to Belgrade Mehmet Kemal Bozay, TİKA Balkans and Eastern Europe Department Chairman Ali Maskan, TİKA authorities, Serbian Coordination Agency Chairman Zoran Stankoviç, Mayor of Buyanovats Agim Arifi, a number of Turkish businessmen and other guests.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Belgrade Mehmet Kemal Bozay said that as Turkey we will continue to stand by the community on matters of education, health and investments and keep making newer investments. Ambassador Bozay added that investments will be made to leave a better future for new generations and continued to say, “We will provide areas for education and also be active in the field of health. While doing this we derive strength from the well-wishing and sincerity you are showing us now. It is our biggest task to provide a good future for our young ones with the energy you and your children give us”.

TİKA Balkans and Eastern Europe Department Chairman Ali Maskan explained that as TİKA they were active in almost every region of the Balkans and were organizing openings for hundreds of projects. TİKA Balkans and Eastern Europe Department Chairman Ali Maskan said that they were greeted with great enthusiasm, love and sincerity every where they went in the Balkans and added, “This is an indication of how intermingled the Balkans and Turkey are and how much togetherness and union there is”. Maskan also said that they intend to keep the historical friendship and brotherhood between Turkey and the Balkans alive and thanked the Serbian authorities who have helped TİKA in every way possible to conduct their operations.

After the opening speeches the school, which will be serving 500 students, was opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
