11 February 2022First Lady Emine Erdoğan Attended the Delivery Ceremony of the Turkish Audio Guide Project in Ukraine
Accompanying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his visit to Ukraine, First Lady Emine Erdoğan, together with Olena Zelensky, the wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, attended the delivery ceremony of the Turkish Audio Guide Project, launched by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) at Saint Sophia Cathedral.
In her speech at the ceremony, Emine Erdoğan stated that Olena Zelensky’s interest in culture and the projects she implemented are admirable. Emine Erdoğan reminded that during Olena Zelensky’s visit to Istanbul last year, they had announced the launch of Ukrainian audio guide services at Dolmabahçe Palace, Ephesus, and Göreme Park in Cappadocia together.
Noting that they were gathered there on that day to mark the launch of Turkish audio guide services at Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kiev, Emine Erdoğan said, “I would like to state that the Turkish audio guide service is provided completely by the initiative of Mrs. Olena. I cannot thank her enough. Her special approach to the Turkish people honored us greatly. Knowledge of each other’s culture and history is an expression of the strengthening of our bridges of friendship.”
Emine Erdoğan stated that it is also pleasing that the number of touristic visits between the two countries is increasing every year. She added that she was very happy to visit this unique cathedral, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the help of Turkish audio guide services.
Emine Erdoğan noted that there was great interest in learning Turkish in Ukraine, which is an indicator of the rapprochement of cultures.
After the ceremony at Saint Sophia Cathedral, Emine Erdoğan visited the Crimean Tatar Embroidery Training Center, which was equipped by TİKA and where the Agency provides training.
