30 April 2021Ramadan Aid To Be Provided for 1,200 People in Kazakhstan with "Erenler Sofrası"
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) will provide Ramadan aid for 1,200 people in Kazakhstan thanks to the "Erenler Sofrası" program.
As part of TİKA's "Erenler Sofrası" Ramadan Program, a handover ceremony was held in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan. At the ceremony, which was held at TİKA’s Nur-Sultan Coordination building, food packages were handed out to tens of needy families, while hundreds of packages were loaded into the Ramadan truck and sent off to the Turkistan region.
TİKA’s Nur-Sultan Coordinator İsmail Gürlek stated that they would be handing out Ramadan packages to 1,200 people in Kazakhstan as part of the "Erenler Sofrası" program, and he said: "We'll especially deliver food packages to the 700 students who still live in the dormitories of the Ahmet Yesevi International Kazakh-Turkish University in the land of the honorable Hoca Ahmet Yesevi."
Gürlek reminded that the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey declared 2021 as the Year of Yunus Emre and Turkish Language, the Year of Haji Bektash Veli and the Year of Ahi Evran, and he said: "Thanks to our Ramadan program which has been carried out under the name Erenler Sofrası, we delivered a message of peace and solidarity from the people of Turkey to the entire world. We made our message even more meaningful by using the long-lasting words of Yunus Emre, Haji Bektash Veli and Ahi Evran."
Dilnaz Ahmetova, one of the people who received the food package, stated that she was a mother of four and she did not have the opportunity to work, and she said: "I'd like to thank all Turkish people through TİKA for their help." The food packages, each weighing 25 kilograms, include basic food supplies such as rice, granulated sugar, pasta, tomato paste, oil, salt as well as Ramadan candy.
