07 June 2022Support from TİKA to the “Turkish Inscriptions Today and in the Future within Mongolian Cultural Heritage Workshops”
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) helped to organize “Turkish Inscriptions Today and in the Future within Mongolian Cultural Heritage Workshops”, the first of which took place in Izmir with the participation of Mongolian authorities and Turkish academicians.
İzmir Katip Çelebi University led the organization of the workshop, while Mongolian State University, Mongolian Cultural Heritage Centre and UNESCO Turkish National Commission worked in cooperation to help with the organization. The workshop was held in Izmir on May 27th and 28th with the support of TİKA and Turkish Language Association.
The opening ceremony was held in Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall on May 27th, 2022 at Katip Çelebi University. Prof. Dr. Şaban Doğan gave the opening speech at the ceremony.
The ceremony continued with the speeches delivered respectively by the President of UNESCO Turkish National Commission Prof. Dr. Öcal Oğuz, the Vice President of TİKA, Dr. Rahman Nurdun, the Undersecretary from Mongalian Embassy in Ankara, Namkhaibat Tserengombo, the President of Turkish Language Association, Prof. Dr. Gürer Gülsevin, the Chief Counsellor of Cultural and Religious Affairs of Mongolian Republic Bum-Ochir Dulam, Prof. Dr. Ruhi Ersoy and the Rector of İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University, Prof. Dr. Saffet Köse..
The workshop focused on the transport of Turkish inscriptions and other works dating from the Turkish era. It is planned to publish the communiqués presented in the workshop within a book and share the resulting communiqués with Turkish and Mongolian authorities.
