The Future of Neurosurgery was discussed in İstanbul under the sponsorship of TİKA

The series of meetings that will shape the future of neurosurgery took place in İstanbul with support from Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

In cooperation with Turkish Neurosurgical Society and Yeditepe University, TİKA arranged a series of meetings during which developments on neurosurgery were shared and reviewed.

Approximately 500 neurosurgeons from 47 different countries participated in the meetings and 130 speakers have shared their knowledge and experiences.

First of the meetings took place between 22nd, 23rd and 24th of August under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Uğur Türe. In “International Rhoton Society Meeting”, also named after the neurosurgeon Prof. Dr. Albert L. Rhoton, who was one of the pioneers in the field of neuroanatomy and had an important role on the development of neurosurgery; the subjects of patient-specific virtual 3D models, microsurgical management of CPA tumors that have went through radiotherapy, 3D nerve mapping of the brain, and methods and planning against complications have been discussed.

Between 25th and 26th of August, subjects of the meetings were “the Future of Microneurosurgery” and “Semi-Fowler’s Position in Neurosurgery”.
