President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended project opening ceremony named “The Same Signature in Different Geographies” held in 6 different areas by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).
Erdoğan pointed out he, in consideration of “maybe they can draw a lesson and get embarrassed”, wanted to set an example of a part of restoration activities carried out at various regions in the world by TIKA for people opposed to recovering for heritage of Fatih the Conquer.
Erdoğan remarking they, as Turkey, renovated crescent of the Dome of the Rock (Cubbat As-Sakhrah) in the Temple Mount for the fifth time, repaired Ottoman Quarters Al-Khansa school in Jenin, converted the Ottoman work in Ramallah into an exhibition and culture center added that Zincirli Madrasa in Bakhchysarai in Crimea which is one of the oldest educational establishments in East Europe into world culture and restored tomb of famous Crimean Khan Khaji Girai.
Reminding he in person attended openings of Mustafa Pasha Mosque in Macedonia, Sinan Pasha Mosque in Prizren and Fatih Mosque in Prishtina, Kosovo; he stated they recreated Nizam Mosque in Podgorica-Montenegro, Kadi Seyfullah Effendi Mosque in Sofia, Keçiova Mosque in Algeria and Suleymaniye Mosque and Complex in Damascus.
Remarking they restored Hanafi and Shafii Mosques and Custom House in Sudan, State House, mosques and tombs from Ottoman Period in Zeyla, Somalia and Ottoman Consulate Building in Harar, Ethiopia; Mr. Erdoğan explained they, as Turkey, restored the tomb of Ethiopian King Necasi, who protected Muslims taking shelter in the first years of Islam, and almost 30 companions of him.
He also told that they renovated the tomb of Suleyman the Magnificent and the Castle in Zigetvar and there are so many examples more, President Erdoğan told that they protect all ancestral memory, not just limited with prayer places.
Erdoğan explained that they restored the house where the father of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk-the founder of the Republic of Turkey- was born in the Kocacik village in Macedonia and Military High School which Ghazi Ataturk studied in Monastir.
-"We will learn our history well"
Sharing the information that they will restore the mosque which was built for poet of Turkish Independence Anthem Mehmet Akif Ersoy’s father Tahir Effendi to work but was used by his relatives in memory of him when he could not be back there, Erdoğan reminded the mosque built in 1861 was destroyed at war in Kosovo.
Expressing that TIKA recreated the mosque and put it into service of Mehmet Akif Ersoy’s relatives and countrymen, Erdoğan said:
“Akif was our enlighted remarking suffers, which were in that period and have still been going on, saying “Civilization gets its knife into you for a long time. It wishes chewing at first, and swallowing later.” And Akif also gives a lesson for us: “It is said man gets lesson from the past. What a story! Does a five thousand- years story bring just half lesson? They say history repeats itself. If man could draw a lesson, would it repeat itself? We will learn our history well. We will protect our history inherited to us to stop repeating mistakes again.”
Emphasizing that renovation of Boğazkesen Mosque means to protect the history, President Erdoğan said “Being opposed to its restoration means to repeat the mistakes which causes to be chewed and swallowed of us.”
Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş also emphasized TIKA as a rising institutions of Turkey and said: “It is upon all praises and appreciations that TIKA has been developing more day by day and becomes Turkey’s representative in the world.
Stating that TIKA carries out development aids and cultural activities, Kurtulmuş said:”I congratulate TIKA for its activities. We will help anyone in need who asks a helping hand without noticing who or from where they are. We will continue to follow any trace of our civilization where it is in the world, to protect any work fading into oblivion till God give strength to this nation.”
TIKA President Serdar Çam stating that there are about 700 national and international staff working in TIKA center and 50 countries around the world; and they carry out almost 200 projects within a year expressed his gratitude to related ministers and bureaucrats in a particular to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
After his speech, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended live broadcast in openings of bread factory in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan; Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Hospital in Punjab, Pakistan; Resadiye School in Nablus, Palestine; and Mehmet Akif Ersoy Mosque in Kosovo where father of Mehmet Akif Ersoy was born.
Chief Minister of Punjab, Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif stating Turkey and Pakistan are two countries having relations beyond brotherhood said: “We are like two hearts in a soul.”
Stating they are very glad that TIKA donated a hospital equipped with latest technology in Pakistan, Sharif emphasized the hospital, located in the south of Punjab, is one of the most modern health centers in the country.
Ministers of Kosovo who attended opening of the mosque expressed their gratitude to President Erdoğan for all supports which Turkey has been doing in Kosovo, and they told that they believe Mehmet Akif Ersoy Mosque will strengthen the relations between two countries. The mosque was opened to worship after Qur’an and prays.
Aslanbek Sultanbekov who is the composer of Dombra Song attended the ceremony and surprised Erdoğan by singing his song. Participants also accompanied with his song.
The group leading by President Erdoğan participated in openings of Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial in Myanmar and Bilge Khan and Tonyukuk Highway in Mongolia by cutting a ribbon.
After presents given by TIKA President Serdar Çam, Erdoğan had photo taken with international students.
Former Saadet Party General President Recai Kutan, Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş, Secretary of National Intelligence Organization Hakan Fidan, Board of Chairman and General Director of Anadolu Agency Şenol Kazancı and a great number of guests attended the ceremony.
