Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the International University of Sarajevo manufactured 3D-printed face shields to be distributed to healthcare providers in Bosnia and Herzegovina to support their fight against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
As part of the project supported by TİKA, 3D printers and consumables were provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 500 face shields were manufactured. The masks manufactured in cooperation with the International University of Sarajevo were distributed to healthcare institutions and other partners in the country.
In her statement, President of the Association of Family Medicine Physicians of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Dr. Larisa Gavran said that they greatly needed protective equipment and that the working conditions of many healthcare providers would be improved, thanks to TİKA’s support. Gavran thanked the Turkish people and the Turkish Government for their assistance.

Before the COVID-19 outbreak, many young people attended the training courses of “3D Modeling and 3D Printing Basics” and “Industrial Solutions with Advanced 3D Modeling and 3D Printing,” which were organized by TİKA in Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries as part of the Vocational Training and Employment Programs (MESİP).
Upon completion of the training courses organized by TİKA, the young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina serve their countries by manufacturing face shields.
