Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) distributed food parcels to 500 families in need in the cities of Sofronio Española and Puerto Princesa, Philippines, to uphold the spirit of solidarity during Ramadan.
The parcels, containing essential food items, were prepared to sustain the families for a month.
Dr. Ali Özgün Öztürk, Head of TİKA’s Central Asia and Caucasus Department, attended the distribution program, where he met with local officials and families.
Speaking at the program, Öztürk emphasized that Ramadan is a time of sharing and solidarity, highlighting TİKA’s commitment to supporting Muslim communities worldwide.
He expressed his joy in sharing the spirit of Ramadan with minority Muslim families in the Philippines.
Speaking on behalf of the families at the ceremony, Sohaib Ibrahim thanked TİKA, saying, “This aid, reaching our community during Ramadan, is not just food assistance but a symbol of brotherhood and solidarity. We are deeply grateful to Türkiye and TİKA. This support holds special meaning for us Filipino Muslims and reassures us that we are not alone.”
