TİKA Supports Prizren Retirees

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided equipment and renovation support to the internal health clinic of the Prizren Regional Retirees and Disabled Workers Association in Prizren, Kosovo.

The opening ceremony, held at the association’s building, was attended by TİKA’s Vice President, Mahmut Çevik; Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister for Minority Affairs and Human Rights, Emilija Redžepi; Türkiye’s Ambassador to Pristina, Sabri Tunç Angılı; Kosovo Democratic Turkish Party (KDTP) Chairman and Minister of Regional Development, Fikrim Damka; Consul General in Prizren, Celal Doğan; TİKA’s Coordinator in Pristina, Fulya Aslan; KDTP MP Fidan Brina Jılta, as well as representatives of local institutions and retirees’ associations.

The ceremony began with guests cutting the ribbon to inaugurate the project.

In his speech, TİKA Vice President Mahmut Çevik stated that since launching operations in Kosovo in 2004, TİKA has implemented nearly 1,000 projects across various fields and for different communities.

Çevik recalled visiting the center approximately six months ago, where they pledged support for the establishment of such a service. He added, “We are pleased to contribute to ensuring that our esteemed retired friends, brothers, and sisters have access to healthcare services. Through this project, we hope to help our elderly continue their lives in good health.”

Deputy Prime Minister Emilija Redzepi also highlighted in her speech that TİKA supports Kosovo in various fields. Describing Türkiye as “our big brother, our partner”, Redzepi emphasized the deep-rooted and long-standing relationship between the two countries.

Other speakers also expressed their gratitude to TİKA for its support of retirees in Prizren.

As part of the project implemented by TİKA, the internal health clinic of the Prizren Regional Retirees and Disabled Workers Association was renovated, and the facility was provided with essential equipment.
