Serkan Kayalar, President of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), was a guest at the “Velhasıl” program organized by the Ankara Representative Office of the Turkish Youth Foundation (TÜGVA). Held in a warm and engaging atmosphere, the event brought together Kayalar and young participants for an insightful session. During the program, he delivered a presentation titled “TİKA’s Role in Türkiye’s International Development Cooperation”.
In his remarks, Kayalar reflected on Türkiye’s growing role in international development in recent years, emphasizing that TİKA’s global projects provide not only technical assistance but also promote a spirit of solidarity and brotherhood.
“As TİKA, we represent Türkiye’s conscience and culture of sharing in every country where we operate. Our development projects are designed not only for immediate impact, but also for long-term social benefit”, Kayalar said, stressing the importance of youth engagement in this mission. He added that TİKA aims to shape the future with the enduring values of the past and underlined the need to raise a generation with a strong sense of international responsibility.
An Interactive Meeting with Young People
During the program, young participants posed questions about TİKA’s field projects. Serkan Kayalar emphasized that development diplomacy extends beyond state institutions, involving civil society and youth as well. He encouraged young people to take on greater responsibility in this important field.
Participants had the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into Türkiye’s international activities, while also deepening their awareness of public diplomacy, volunteering, and global solidarity.
