Islamic Cultural Center Opened in Montenegro with TİKA's Support

The “Munira” Islamic Cultural Center is inaugurated in the city of Ulcinj in Southern Montenegro with equipment support by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA). 

The Munira Islamic Cultural Center, for which TİKA provided equipment support, has been inaugurated with a ceremony in the Vladimir (Albanian: Katërkollë) district of the city of Ulcinj. The renovated center will provide services for the people of the area for religious courses and various cultural activities.

TİKA provided the necessary equipment and supplies for the kitchen, the restaurant, and the multi-purpose room of the Munira Islamic Cultural Center. Interactive boards and whiteboards, conference chairs, ventilation system, restaurant and kitchen equipment have been procured as part of the project.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Rifat Feyziç, the President of the Montenegro Islamic Union; Ali Bardi, the Chief Imam of Ulcinj; and Abdurrahman S. Toprak, TİKA’s Podgorica Program Coordinator.

Having spoken at the ceremony, Rifat Feyziç expressed his gratitude for the project, underlined that the project was important for providing services regarding the religious and cultural needs of the entire region and not just the residents of the district, and thanked TİKA for their support.

Ali Bardi, on the other hand, thanked the government and the people of Turkey for their support for the Munira Islamic Cultural Center and expressed his hope that the brotherhood between the two countries would be eternal.
