Martyrs of July 15 Were Commemorated in Ukraine

TİKA implemented a landscaping project in the “Turkey-Ukraine Friendship and Democracy Garden,” created by planting 251 red and white roses in the Hryshko National Botanical Garden, affiliated with the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, in memory of our martyrs of July 15. After the project, an exhibition was opened in the garden on July 15, Democracy and National Unity Day.

The opening ceremony was attended by Yağmur Ahmet Güldere, the Republic of Turkey’s Ambassador to Kiev; representatives of the public institutions in Ukraine; Embassy staff; representatives of non-governmental organizations; Turkish business people; press members; and Meskhetian Turks and Crimean Tatars living in Kiev. Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, was also among the attendees.

At the event, which began with a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs of July 15 and the Turkish National Anthem being played; Ali Çimen, Religious Attaché at the Turkish Embassy in Kiev, said a prayer for the martyrs. Then, Yağmur Ahmet Güldere, the Republic of Turkey’s Ambassador to Kiev, delivered a speech, mentioned the fight against FETÖ, and informed the guests about the efforts made in the world and in Ukraine. Stressing that they were determined to fight FETÖ, Güldere said, “We will continue to fight this organization with our valued citizens, Turkic people, and our Ukrainian friends, and we will not stop until the last member of the organization is brought to justice. I sincerely believe that we will achieve success. I would like to end my speech by thanking TİKA for creating this rose garden 2 years ago in this botanical garden, which is probably the apple of the eye of Kiev, in order to commemorate our saintly martyrs of July 15 and pay respect to our veterans, and for making this garden even more beautiful with the landscaping project it implemented this year.”
