Our Volunteer Ambassadors Completed the Tanzania Part of Experience Sharing Program

Turkish students who visited Tanzania under the Experience Sharing Program (ESP), organized by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), took part in the works carried out at a vocational school and youth camp where orphans and women will be trained.

Turkish students who visited Tanzania under the ESP 2022, organized with the support of TİKA, took part in TİKA’s projects and activities. The first stop of the program was the Republic of Türkiye’s Embassy in Dar es-Salaam and TİKA’s Program Coordination Office in Dar es-Salaam. After the visit, the volunteer students went to Zanzibar Island.

They took part in the construction works

The volunteer students took part in the works at a vocational school and youth camp that was built by TİKA and located in Assalam Community Foundation in the village of Kizimkazi and will offer training to orphans and women. The center, the construction of which reached the last phase, will offer training on culinary skills and baking, carpentry, and tourism and hotel management free of charge.

They learned about the local culture

After completing the works, the volunteer students cleaned a public beach. TİKA’s volunteer ambassadors visited many villages in Zanzibar and had the opportunity to learn about the language, cuisine, and culture of the people of Zanzibar. Finally, the students learned from local people about the plant diversity and agricultural activities in Zanzibar.
