08 July 2022Support from TİKA to “One Woman, One Short Story” Workshop in Kosovo
“One Woman, One Short Story” workshop started by the Skopje ZOR Association in Novi Pazar was organized in Pristina with the support of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
“One Woman, One Short Story” workshop was organized with the cooperation of TİKA and the Women’s Solidarity Group of “Gerçek” Culture, Arts and Sports Association from Pristina. Life and success stories of 14 successful women from Kosovo, North Macedonia, Western Thrace and Sanjak of Serbia were shared in the workshop.
Fidan Brina Jılta, Deputy of Kosovan Democratic Turkish Party gave a speech at the ceremony and said, “In my capacity as a Kosovan Parliamentarian, I would like to say that I am proud to be together with successful women from different countries in the “One Woman, One Short Story” workshop held in Pristina. As a woman deputy of the Turkish community in Kosovo, I have always sided with women. We are going to have a sustainable future if we can raise our daughters to be the independent and strong women of tomorrow.”
Işık Kaytazi, the Chairwoman of the Women’s Solidarity Group of “Gerçek” Culture, Arts and Sports Association said they are very happy to be a part of such an event and added, “Women are our only values that make today and tomorrow possible. Women are a huge universe that produces and reproduces. Women know how to love and respect what they have brought into life. Women distribute love and constitute justice.”
The Chairwoman of the ZOR Association, Hacer Sulooca thanked TİKA for its support to the workshop and stated, “Each and every single woman has a big world in her. We set out on this journey with a story, but volumes of books would not suffice to tell our stories as mothers, scientists, artists, educators and politicians”.
After the speeches, the fourteen women mentioned above shared their own success stories. The women whose life stories were shared in the workshop were as follows: Retired faculty member, Prof Gülümser Kasapi, Şpresa Jusuf, the Ambassador of North Macedonia in Pristina, Vildan Kerim, one of the first Turkish bankers from North Macedonia; Assoc. Prof Elsev Brina Lopar, Head of Turkish Programs from the Faculty of Education of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti” University, Besa İsmaili Ahmeti, Faculty Member of the Faculty of Theology and Activist, Gülten Nobırda, Professor of Turkish Language and Literature and Sworn Translator, Sanija Murati ,Chairwoman of Lady Association, Necmiye Pagaruş, a deceased singer from Kosovo; Hülya Emin, the owner and chief editor of Gündem, Emine Tahsin, a retired teacher and politician, Çiğdem Asafoğlu, the President of Friendship, Equality and Peace Party from Western Thrace; Jasmina Curiç, the President of Bosnian National Council, Bisera Şeçeragiç, a retired economist and Şefka Begoviç Liçina’nın, a writer and an activist from Novi Pazar.
The workshop, wherein unique success stories were shared, ended as the participants were presented certificates.
