TİKA’s Gifts Brought the Joy of April 23 to Paraguayan Children
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) distributed gift packages containing school supplies to students as part of the event held at the Turkish Republic School in Paraguay on the occasion of National Sovereignty and Children's Day, celebrated on April 23.
Children had great fun with the playground equipment installed as part of the event, which was held by TİKA and the Republic of Türkiye’s Embassy in Asunción, and enjoyed the holiday, which was dedicated to all the children of the world.
In his speech at the events held on April 23 at the Turkish Republic School in Luque, located 20 km from Asunción, the capital of Paraguay; Serhat Aksen, the Republic of Türkiye’s Ambassador to Asunción, described the historical importance of National Sovereignty and Children's Day, which is celebrated on April 23 and was dedicated by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to all the children of the world, for Türkiye. He said he was happy to feel the joy of the holiday together. Aksen pointed out the friendly relations between Türkiye and Paraguay and stated that the Turkish Republic School, which was renovated by TİKA in 2020 and had a new look, is a sign of this friendship. Aksen wished a great future in peace and tranquility for all the children of the world and presented gifts to the students of the school.
The Turkish Republic School, which is the only educational institution with the word Turkish in its name and serves 650 students between the ages of 4 and 13, was completely renovated by TİKA in 2020.
