17 November 2022TİKA and TRT organized the “Journalism Training Program (MEP)” in Uzbekistan
As part of the “Journalism Training Program (MEP),” organized by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and TRT, the “Journalism and New Media Journalism Training” courses were held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Journalism and Mass Communications University of Uzbekistan (O'zbekiston Jurnalistika va ommaviy kommunikatsiyalar Universiteti) and the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan (O’zbekiston Milliy Teleradio Kompaniyasi/MTRK).
University students, correspondents, press members, and the staff members of the leading broadcasters in Uzbekistan attended the training courses, which were taught by specialists from TRT at the Journalism and Mass Communications University of Uzbekistan and the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan.
The courses, which were attended by more than 100 trainees, offered applied training on several topics, such as “Design in Digital Media,” “Monitoring Corporate Social Media Accounts,” “Implementing Strategies for Platforms,” “Tips for Journalists to Make Their Jobs Easier,” “The Impact of Digital Transformation on the Media,” and “Digital Content Marketing.”
At the end of the New Media Journalism Training Program, certificates were presented to the trainees at the closing ceremony held at the conference hall at the Journalism and Mass Communications University of Uzbekistan.
In his speech at the closing ceremony, Olgan Bekar, the Republic of Türkiye’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, thanked all the institutions that contributed to the training, especially TİKA. Bekar also stressed the importance of the relations and cooperation between the two countries, especially in the media industry.
Sherzod Kudratkhodjaev, Rector of the Journalism and Mass Communications University of Uzbekistan, delivered a speech at the ceremony, stated that he had visited TRT years ago and wanted to form a partnership with the said institution, and thanked TİKA and TRT for offering them an opportunity to do so.
After the closing ceremony held at the university, another closing ceremony was held for the “Journalism Training Program,” which was organized at the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan. Certificates were presented to the trainees at the ceremony, which was attended by Safarov Madamin Abdukapparovich, Deputy Chairperson of the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, and the staff members of the said institution.
