Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) organized a 5-day electrotherapy training program at the Mloganzila Campus for 17 people, including physiotherapists and technicians from Muhimbili National Hospital, the largest hospital in Tanzania.
Thanks to the training program, which was developed under the responsibility of the Office of the Coordinator of Education Projects in the Department of Foreign Relations and Partnerships at TİKA within the scope of the Public Health Training Program, trainees improved their theoretical and practical skills and learned how to use the idle physiotherapy devices in the hospital.
In her speech at the ceremony, during which certificates were presented to the trainees who completed the program, Chief Physician Dr. Julieth Magandi said, “I would like to thank the Republic of Turkey and TİKA for the training program they organized.” Dr. Magandi stated that the professional knowledge they acquired thanks to the program would help them make significant progress in the rehabilitation of people with reduced mobility. She added that she was pleased with the ongoing cooperation between TİKA and Muhimbili National Hospital, and that she hoped this cooperation would become even stronger.
Dr. Mehmet Güllüoğlu, the Republic of Turkey’s Ambassador to Dar es-Salaam, noted that Turkey’s health system was very good compared to those of other countries and that they attached utmost importance to sharing their experience with friendly and sister countries. He added that they would continue to contribute to Tanzania’s development in the field of health, using every means available, especially TİKA’s projects.
