TİKA Renewed the Pediatric Cardiology Department in Pakistan

Peshawar Institute of Cardiology’s pediatric cardiology department was renewed and furnished with modern hospital equipment by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

Peshawar Institute of Cardiology’s pediatric cardiology department in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, was provided with modern medical and hospital equipment with a refurbishment project by TİKA.

The equipment provided to the Peshawar Institute of Cardiology, the most advanced cardiovascular hospital in the province, includes pediatric echocardiogram machines, infusion and syringe pumps, and cardiac monitors. Moreover, a playground was also built in the pediatric cardiology department.

Mehmet Paçacı, the Republic of Türkiye’s Ambassador to Islamabad; Muhsin Balcı, TİKA’s Coordinator in Islamabad; Prof. Dr. Shahkar Ahmed, the Medical Director at Peshawar Institute of Cardiology; and guests attended the ceremony held in the institute.

Ambassador Paçacı, in his ceremony statement, pointed out the historical roots of the relations between the two countries by mentioning that Türkiye is in cooperation with Pakistan in health, education and other various sectors.

The Medical Director at the Peshawar Institute of Cardiology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed, thanked Türkiye and TİKA for their support.

Following the ceremony, Ambassador Paçacı, together with other health officials, toured and inspected the hospital. Inspecting the work of TİKA in the pediatric cardiology department, Paçacı cut the ribbon there.
