As part of the Erenler Sofrası Ramadan Program, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) distributed food packages to 450 families in Namibia.
Within the scope of the “Erenler Sofrası” Ramadan Program, which was organized by TİKA because the year 2021 was declared as the Year of Yunus Emre, Ahi Evran and Haji Bektash Veli, food packages were distributed to 450 needy families in Namibia.
450 food packages, which were prepared to meet the basic needs of a family for a month including flour, sugar, salt, oil and hygiene supplies, were distributed to needy families in the capital Windhoek, as well as Okahandja, Groot Aub, Osire Refugee Camp, Keetmanshoop and Kunene.
The officials, religious functionaries and local community expressed their gratitude towards Turkey at the handover ceremony for the support that they have provided for needy people.
In her speech, Berin Makbule Tulun, Ambassador of Turkey in Windhoek, stated that the month of Ramadan was the month of unity and solidarity, and that this charity in difficult times should be considered as a part of the Turkish culture.
