27 March 2025TİKA Continues to Share the Abundance of Ramadan with the People of Mongolia
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) distributed food packages to 1,400 low-income families across Mongolia as part of its Ramadan Program.
TİKA, in cooperation with municipalities affiliated with the capital Ulaanbaatar, distributed food aid during Ramadan to communities with a high concentration of Mongolian citizens of Kazakh origin, as well as Dukha Turks, Tuva Turks, and Khoton Turks. A total of 1,400 families living in Bayan-Ölgii Province and other districts with significant populations of these groups benefited from the assistance.
In cooperation with the General Directorate of Labour and Social Services under the Ministry of Family, Labour, and Social Protection of Mongolia, the food aid distribution program received great interest from the public and local authorities. The program was carried out in collaboration with the municipalities of Bayanzürkh, Nalaikh, and Songinokhairkhan, as well as various non-governmental organizations.
Deputy Chairman of the Mongolian Parliament, Bulgantuya Khurelbaatar, who attended the food aid program held in Bayanzürkh Municipality, stated: “TİKA cooperates with the Mongolian government in many areas. Mongolia is engaged in multilateral cooperation with the Turkish government, not only through grant and credit support but also through cooperation agreements in the field of social insurance to ensure social security for Mongolian citizens working in Türkiye, Turkish citizens living here and to enhance economic cooperation,” she said.
As part of the food aid program conducted in cooperation with the Governor’s Office and the Provincial Directorate of Labour and Social Services in Bayan-Ölgii Province, Governor Zangar Yesentay stated, “TİKA has implemented 880 projects in Mongolia to date. Today, we are here to distribute food aid provided during the holy month of Ramadan. We have prioritized ensuring that this aid reaches those who are truly in need. On behalf of myself and my people, I would like to express my gratitude to Türkiye and TİKA for their support of our community and our province.”
