TİKA Supports Preschool Education in Mongolia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided equipment support to Nursery No. 0289 of the Border Protection Unit to offer preschool education opportunities for the children of employees working 1,800 kilometers away from Mongolia’s capital, Ulaanbaatar. The nursery serves children between the ages of 2 and 5.

As part of a joint initiative by the Mongolian Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Science, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, nurseries for the children of state employees working in border areas have begun to open. In this context, a nursery with a capacity for 25 children was constructed in 2024 to address the social challenges faced by security personnel at Border Protection Unit No. 0285 and to provide preschool education for their children. However, the nursery’s opening was delayed due to budgetary constraints.

Through the project implemented by TİKA, preschool education materials aligned with educational standards, kitchen equipment, and bedding were provided, facilitating the official opening of the nursery.

The project aims to enhance preschool education infrastructure in rural areas and ensure that children in these regions have access to preschool education services.

Colonel Hürelsüh Battör, Commander of Border Protection Directorate No. 0285, expressed his gratitude, stating that the project enables soldiers and other personnel assigned to border protection duties to work without concern, knowing their children have access to a nursery. He extended his thanks to TİKA and the Turkish people on behalf of all border guards.
