TİKA Renovated the Residence of Tatar Families in Ukraine

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) renovated the residence of 30 Crimean Tatar families who had to leave their homeland after the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and migrated to the Ukrainian mainland, in the village of Nova Greblia in Vinnytsia.

As part of the project it implemented, TİKA replaced the roof and renovated the sewage system of the residence, where nearly 50 adults and 100 children live. The Agency also repaired the hallways on three floors, replaced the doors, and renovated the electrical system.

The project improved the standards of living of Crimean Tatar families and contributed to keeping the Crimean Tatar language and culture alive.

The opening ceremony of the residence was attended by Ahmet Yağmur Güldere, the Republic of Turkey’s Ambassador to Kiev; Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People; Cüneyt Esmer, TİKA’s Ukraine Coordinator; and officials of the Kalynivka Town Council in Vinnytsia Oblast.
