The officials and the people of the region were called on to run studies on projects that might generate revenue and to take the opportunity to collaborate with TİKA.
Swaibu Alahay, Mufti of the Yumbe Region, expressed his gratitude towards the government of the Republic of Turkey for the development and humanitarian aid activities that they have been carrying out in the region, and said: ‘Yumbe hosts approximately 1 million refugees from South Sudan. This leads to setbacks in the services. Therefore, we need more development and humanitarian aid projects.’
Anifah Monday, one of the residents of Gboloba village in Yumbe who received a food package, stated that the food aid came just in time for the month of Ramadan and that this aid would support the family budget. Dafala Rashid, another resident of the village, said: ‘I have a hard time accessing food supplies because I have financial problems. I sometimes break my fast with mango. I'm really thankful to everyone who took part in this aid project’.
