Turkey's Experience in Hearing Screening was shared with Tajikistan

Acting in coordination with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan, physicians from Turkey trained 33 physicians from different regions of Tajikistan about hearing screening for newborns.

98% of newborns go through hearing screening test in Turkey. Today, many developed countries have not achieved this rate. Physicians from Turkey gave theoretical-practical training on hearing test and its importance in Tajikistan in order to share Turkey's experience in this area. The training program organized within the framework of the Mother-Child Health Support Program carried out by TİKA was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan.

At the end of the training program, certificates were given to 33 physicians, who participated in the program. In his speech, Deputy Minister Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda, who attended the ceremony on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Social Security of the Republic of Tajikistan, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation they made with TİKA, one of the organizations they trust, and that they are willing to do whatever it takes to continue the program.

Physicians from Tajikistan may Visit Turkey

In his speech, TİKA Dushanbe Program Coordinator Tarık Mete stated that they are planning to send a group of physicians who work in hospitals in different regions of Tajikistan to receive further training in Turkey in the second phase of the project and to supply hearing screening devices to the hospitals, where these trained physicians work. He added that they intend to test newborns with hearing screening tests and therefore prevent disabilities that may arise due to hearing loss in the future.
