TİKA Renovated Gymnasium at Vocational Training School in Mongolia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) renovated the gymnasium of a vocational training school in the province of Bayan-Ölgii to create a suitable educational environment for children residing in rural areas of Mongolia.

The 3rd School, which has been providing education for 57 years in the province of Bayan-Ölgii, enrolls 1,420 students. At the school, located approximately 1,700 km far from the capital, Ulaanbaatar, vocational training is provided in the fields of construction, production and agriculture. TİKA renovated the gymnasium of the 3rd School in the province of Bayan-Ölgii, which had not undergone comprehensive repairs for years, to enable students living in rural areas to engage in physical education lessons in a safe environment complying with modern education standards, and to convert the gymnasium into a venue capable of hosting sports events and competitions held in the province of Bayan-Ölgii.

During the speech at the opening ceremony of the gymnasium, the 3rd School Principal Ayaujan Baygalım said, “TİKA has been implementing many projects in our province, where mostly Kazakhs live. Taking into account difficult winter conditions, they established a modern building equipped with electricity and heating systems, and they improved hygiene conditions for our students in 2022. Additionally, this year they have renovated the gymnasium of our school. I would like to express my gratitude to the Turkish people and TİKA for their contributions to this beautiful project.”
