TİKA Supports Reinforcement of Moldova’s Health Infrastructure

A cooperation protocol for the renovation project of the operating room of the “Diomid Gherman Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery,” the sole center in the field of neurology and neurosurgery in Moldova, has been signed with a ceremony.

The institute, which has been in service since 1950 and offering healthcare service to 10,000 people across Moldova, performs 2,000 surgeries annually.

As part of TİKA’s renovation project, the operating room will be completely renovated and necessary equipment will be provided in the initial phase. Alongside the operating room, a disinfection room, resting rooms and changing rooms will also be renovated and furnished.

Within the project, alongside renovation and furnishing works, it is planned to implement various training programs throughout the year to enable healthcare professionals working at the center to share experiences with their counterparts in Türkiye.

The cooperation protocol was signed by the Director of the Diomid Gherman Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Vladimir Dolghi and TİKA’s Coordinator in Chișinău, Tarık Mete.

This project, which has been implemented to reinforce the health infrastructure of Moldova’s sole center providing services in this field, is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
